About Joanna
Joanna is a media executive who loves turning big cultural ideas into content that connects. With 20 years of experience leading branded content, editorial strategy, and revenue growth across top media networks, she’s known for spotting cultural and retail trends, anticipating shifts in consumer behavior — especially in women’s lifestyle — and building teams that thrive.
Most recently, Joanna was VP of Branded Content at Vox Media, overseeing a $23M+ ad business across brands including New York Magazine, The Cut, Eater, Popsugar, Vox, Vulture, The Verge, Grub Street, Curbed, SB Nation, Thrillist, and The Dodo. She guided a large team of editors in delivering award-winning campaigns for Fortune 500 clients and developing everything from articles and social ads to newsletters and white-label content that audiences love.
Previously, she led branded content at Group Nine Media and Popsugar. In 2014, she joined forces with Bobbi Brown to launch Yahoo Beauty, and in 2008 she was a founding editor of Yahoo Shine, then the world’s largest women’s site.
Joanna has appeared on The Today Show, spoken on industry panels, and taught Native Advertising 101 at NYU’s Summer Publishing Institute (2018–2020). Off the clock, she’s just as passionate about creativity and community — serving on the board of a local arts project and captaining her USTA tennis team. She holds a B.A. in Journalism from New York University.
